How To Destroy Your Acne
Known to have an effect on about 96% of the adolescents, acne is one of the conditions that weaken the self confidence of presenting oneself in front of others. Acne vulgaris, the terminology used in science results in inflammatory papules, nodules and noninflammatory papules and blackheads as well.
Acne is caused when changes take place in the sebaceous glands which produce oil. This oil that’s produced becomes solid enough to cause a blockage of hair follicles when it combines with ones dead skin.
Though the hair follicles are blocked, the sebaceous glands do not stop secreting oil and thus ultimately the conditions become highly encouraging for bacteria. Eventually, this infection leads to the skin getting swelled and reddish enough to produce a pimple or a mark on the face.
Since acne and sebaceous glands are closely related, wherever these glands are present in our body, pimples are likely to be produced say the face, chest, back, etc. When people just get into their adult stage, these glands get enhanced in their function. This is the reason why people have many pimples when they are in the teenage and get rid of it gradually as they get into adulthood.
Unfortunately though, there are people who can’t seem to rid themselves of this problem even after they’ve entered their 30s and 40s. Because acne first appears during a stage in our lives when we’re most unsure of ourselves and lack confidence, it has the ability to cause serious depression which sometimes also leads to suicide. This is a direct result of the scars or blemishes it leaves on the skin that over time can mar or disfigure one’s face.
Stress is also attributed to the occurrence of acne. There are however, two mythical reasons that have been long attributed to acne and those are diet and sex. So far, scientists have failed to find a connection between the food we eat (including chips, sugar, fried stuff, etc), and the acne condition. Sex or the lack of it is also unnecessarily blamed by many as a cause of acne.
However acne can be treated and gotten rid of if one pays adherence to getting rid of three main factors- excess oil, dead skin cells and bacteria. While use of antibiotics or topical creams can help one fight and destroy bacteria, tablets that contain vitamin A can help you with the excess oil problem. A cosmetic used in conjunction with salicylic acid can remove dead skin cells.
