Many people are affected by the itchy skin disorder eczema. Most have no idea how to start healing eczema. Eczema is a many times heredity immune disorder that technically does not have a cure. Feeling better from eczema is all about prevention.
Eczema causes really itchy and dry skin. It is very difficult, maybe even impossible to not scratch skin that has eczema. This scratching however is the cause of inflammation to the skin. This irritated and inflamed skin can also get infected and be further spread when scratched.
Two types of eczema are contact eczema and atopic eczema. Most people suffer from contact eczema most commonly known as contact dermatitis. Contact eczema happens when the skin touches an irritant. Atopic eczema, another common form, can also occur with internal changes or internal allergens. Atopic eczema is typically inherited from a family member.
There are a few ways to avoid eczema, especially if it runs in your family. One way is to stay away from irritants and allergens. Another is to keep your skin moisturized. Finally, reducing stress levels, and improving your nutrition can also be helpful.
Many common allergens can also trigger eczema attacks. Soy, peanut, wheat, eggs, and whole milk are frequently causes of reactions. Wool and synthetic fabrics have also been shown to be irritants to some people’s skin. Even sweat can cause eczema attacks. Staying cool and wearing cotton fabrics can prevent an eczema attack.
Many people recognize eczema by its dry skin. Harsh, drying soaps are frequently the cause of this dry skin. It is very easy to irritate dry skin. Furthermore, irritated dry skin can easily become infected which is an even bigger problem. Proper moisturizer is important prevention for someone with eczema.
Good stress levels and nutrition is also the secret to eczema prevention. Eczema can be the result of viral, bacterial, or fungal infections. These type of infections thrive in bodies with poor nutrition and high stress. Staying healthy overall can prevent eczema attacks.
Some nutritionists recommend supplements to prevent eczema. Antioxidants prevent infections on the irritated skin. Omega 3 fats are believed to increase moisture levels in the skin. B vitamins are also thought to reduce inflammation.
Healing eczema is all about prevention. If you don’t itch you will not scratch. If you don’t scratch, chances are there will be no infection. Although this immune disorder has no cure, you can stop it.
